Description
Within Boston’s famed Museum of Science exhibit halls, a little-used lecture hall was transformed into the new specialized movie theater. The non-profit educational museum partnered with SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment of Toronto to build a “Fully-Immersive Sensory Film Experience”. For this technically-demanding design and construction project, Torrey Architecture and its team of engineers were responsible for getting visitors in and out of their high-tech seats safely and enjoyably while hiding away the maze of support infrastructure below the seating platforms, above the ceiling and in the behind-the-scenes technical support spaces of this fully renovated 98-seat theater.
With wind in your face, you skim across the tops of ocean waves when “pffftt!” a whale surfaces, and you feel the spray on your skin. You are transported via the magic of the 4D experience. We recommend a visit; fun for young and old (and in between as well).
